Intel official announced a new six-core processor, this is a microchip Core i7-970, which is made using 32-nanometer manufacturing process, it involves the installation of a socket LGA 1366, the microchip has a L2 cache size 1.5 MB, L3 = 12 MB and support technologies Turbo Boost and Hyper-Threading.

The first commercial products based on the MIC architecture will be the name of Knights Corner; they appear on the market before 2011. Knights Corner will comprise more than 50 cores on one chip and processed at 22-nanometer technology.

A dual-core version of Intel Atom processor for netbooks will be launched in the second quarter this year. The dual-core chip will be clocked at 1.5GHz and produced using 45-nanometer technology. Its thermal design power is 8.5W, whereas the currently available N450 and N470 single core chips consume 5.5W and 6.5W.
