Zalman U3 Series External Hard Drives

Zalman introduced three new external hard drives of U3 series, these hard drives sport an USB 3.0 interface, the 2.5-inch HDD/SSD-supporting Zalman ZM-HE250 U3, 3.5-inch compatible Zalman ZM-HE350 U3 and Zalman ZM-HE350 U3E.

The ZM-HE250 U3 measures 84 x 16 x 134 mm and has an aluminum and polycarbonate construction, while the two ZM-HE350s are 116.6 by 47 by 201 mm and have a similar build. All three enclosures support SATA drives and have an USB 3.0 connector, while the ZM-HE350 U3E also adds an eSATA port to the mix. The trio’s pricing and release date were not announced.

A-Data CH11 Classic External Hard Drives with USB 3.0

A-Data CH11 is the latest addition to Classic series of external Hard Drives that supports USB 3.0. This a new 2.5-inch external hard drive which is claimed to be perfect for storing media content like music, images and, of course, movies.

The A-Data CH11 comes with custom labels which allow for easier identification of stored data, it has an USB 3.0 interface enabling transfer speeds of up to 90 MB/s, and will be available in three colors – black, white and pink. A-Data’s drive is available at €52.73 (500GB model), €70.22 (750GB) and €84.72 (1TB).

LaCie Little Big Disk with Thunderbolt Support

LaCie introduced all new Little Big Disk external drive with Thunderbolt support that utilizes a smooth and compact d2 aluminum chassis. Thunderbolt technology is a breakthrough in I/O technology and represents the future of mobile computing.

LaCie Little Big Disk offering has two Thunderbolt ports allowing for a daisy chain with compatible peripherals (hard drives, monitors, cameras), and packs two Intel 510 Series solid state drives set in RAID 0 which will surely deliver top writing/reading speeds. It won’t saturate the Thunderbolt link though as it has 10Gb/s bi-directional channels. The Little Big Disk is set to become available by summer. Prices are yet unknown.

Toshiba STOR.E ART 4 External HDD with USB 3.0

Toshiba added a new storage devices to its external HDD, the new external hard drived Toshiba STOR.E ART 4 has a very glossy black finish and USB 3.0 interface connection. The STOR.E ART 4 is a shock proof device and comes with an application software NTI BackupNow EZ, which allows the user to backup all information with just one click and to protect it by incorporating 256-bit encryption algorithm.

Toshiba STOR.E ART 4 coming in three different models, a 500 GB model in red color, 750GB in blue color and 1TB in white color. All three devices will be available later this year in affordable price.

A-DATA introduces the Superior SH02, a new portable hard drive 2.5-inch design-style carbon fiber and equipped with a special scratch resistant coating that keeps it as new even after months of use. Thanks to technology IMF (In-Mold Foil) the outer coating also prevents the unsightly “fingerprints” that are often marked on the surfaces of devices like this.

The SH02 is characterized by two new cuts, 250 or 500 GB with USB 2.0 interface, it weighs only 166 grams, is 15.5 mm and can often be chosen in black, white or pink with delicate decorations dedicated to women. The press release claims that the new drive-DATA SH02 is already available in the best Italian shops of electronics, but the price of the device is not specified.

Verbatim has has expanded its line of portable hard drives Verbatim Store n Go. The new 2.5-inch hard drive, which comes in a wide range of many bright colors. Samsung announced a new version of external hard drives called Samsung Story, elegant and enhanced by the presence of USB 3.0. The new Samsung Story USB 3.0 promises a data transfer rate 10 times higher than the version equipped with USB 2.0, up to a maximum of 5 Gbps gigabits per second. The new version of the Samsung Story Station will be available with capacity 1 TB or 2 TB, but it is still unclear the official price.

Toshiba StorE Art 3 External Hard Drive Unveiled

Toshiba StorE Art 3 external hard drive comes in a 2.5″ form factor, capable of up to 1TB worth of data. It also comes with the pre-installed NTI BackupNow EZTM software which allows you to make backup of your computer system with a click, and even an entire system restore despite Windows not being co-operative with you. Other security features include data encryption and password protection. The StorE Art 3 external hard drive will be out later this May, however no pricing has been announced.
