Wind Explorer is a wind powered electric car, an inspiring ideas about limiting the bad effects of traffic on the environment. This hi tech car has crossed the 3000 miles along Australia is approximately 4800 km due solely to energy supplied by wind. A tower installed / removed with a turbine at the top allowed the collection of energy during stops and while traveling the small electric motor ensured a smooth drive, flanked by a large kite.

The special feature of the Wind Explorer is that it is an electric vehicle with its own mobile power supply. When the battery is empty, the pilots can recharge them via a portable wind turbine, if wind conditions allow, or via the conventional power network. It takes half an hour to erect the turbine and six-meter high telescopic made of bamboo. In addition to wind power, the Wind Explorer can be driven by kites. In this way, the lightweight vehicle reached speeds of around 80 kph.

The designer Yang Yongchang imagined iWeb 2.0, a concept of netbooks with foldable keyboard that, once opened, has same dimensions as a normal keyboard, including all the keys necessary for a complete editing. In case the designer screen measures just 6.5 inches and 2.0 has capacitive touchscreen, the overall size of the device are therefore of only 160 x 106 x 18 mm.

Roundbox is a concept laptop designed for children ages 5 to 14 years. The device, in the intentions of the designers, should stimulate creativity, inspire learning and provide entertainment, all packed into a nice round shape houses easy to carry. The graphical interface has an intuitive design and you can interact with it via the touch screen or using the touch pad that becomes necessary in a game pad.

The buttons at the bottom of the screen allow you to select as many modes: data processing (activities), how to play (video games and educational games), video mode (watching movies), how art (drawing and painting) and camera mode (click and edit photos). All in all not too futuristic a concept that could have a productive result.

Atomik Cars Abarth 500 is an electric concept, it is a zero-emission vehicle with a supercar performance. Inside this machine is a 300 horsepower engine powered by a lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePO4) that delivers a 60 mph acceleration in just 5.6 seconds. It also has a ceramic heating system that warms people inside while Peltier A/C modules do the cooling.

Asus Dual Panel Notebook Concept: Through hand gestures, handwriting recognition and multi-touch, users are presented with a control surface that is both flexible and intuitive. Users can use the dual panel concept in a myriad of usage scenarios.

For example as a conventional notebook with multi-touch screens, a virtual keyboard and touchpad; a multimedia hub, in which both dual panels could combine to form a larger display for widescreen entertainment; or an E-book mode in which users can hold the dual panel concept notebook just like they would a conventional book while flipping pages through intuitive gestures or by touch.

The company explains that the dual panel concept offers a flexible working space in which users can adapt to suit their prevailing usage scenarios, for example adjusting the size of the virtual touchpad and keyboard. These concepts aim to bring convenience to the user through technological innovations and user-centric design,” the company’s press release says. The concept has been discussed at WePC and is a result of ideas contributed from users from around the world.

Asus brings us the latest in eco-friendly notebook design. The Asus Eco Book, as it’s dubbed, is encased in natural bamboo. Building computers out of wood is not new. Apple’s first computer was nothing more than a homemade motherboard inside a wooden box. But Asus had a much harder task, since the components of a laptop are so close together and heat insulation is an issue when something as flammable as wood is used. Apart from a bunch of homeless, anorexic pandas that rely on bamboo as their habitat and food, Asus will please everybody if the concept works.
