A dual-core version of Intel Atom processor for netbooks will be launched in the second quarter this year. The dual-core chip will be clocked at 1.5GHz and produced using 45-nanometer technology. Its thermal design power is 8.5W, whereas the currently available N450 and N470 single core chips consume 5.5W and 6.5W. Intel is also expected to release the 1.83GHz single-core Atom N475 CPU this year.
