MSI WindBOX Ultra-Small Low-Power Desktop PC: The PC, meant to take up virtually no desk space as it can attach to the rear of a monitor thanks to VESA mount compatibility, sports Intel’s 1.6GHz Atom CPU and the integrated Intel GMA 950 chipset for graphics processing. The PC has 1GB of RAM. There is no fan for quiet operation, and to reduce power use the large heatsink doubles as the PC’s case.
Hard drive capacity is unspecified, as MSI says only that the WindBOX has support for a SATA II hard drive, nor is it known what kind, if any, operating system will be included with the thin PC. Connections include an Ethernet port, three USB 2.0 jacks, a 3-in-1 card reader, and a VGA output. A Wi-Fi radio is built in, but there is no new mention of the previously rumored version with 2GB of virtual memory and a 250GB hard drive. When the WindBOX is released, it will compete with the ASUS Eee Box in the nettop field.
