Acer Aspire One 750 11.6-inch Netbook: Powered by Intel’s 1.33GHz Atom Z520 CPU along with a maximum of 2GB of RAM rather than the 1.6GHz model of before. The largest netbook in Acer’s lineup also sports a 1366×768 resolution and offers Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and triband UMTS/HSPA 3G as options.
Windows XP Home is the standard operating system, with Vista Home Basic offered as well. A webcam is built into the netbook’s bezel, allowing for video chats, while the touchpad is multifunctional, giving it the ability to support multiple contact, letting users “pinch” it to zoom into images, like on certain ASUS netbooks or Apple’s MacBooks. The 1-inch thick netbook also has support for 5.1 channel audio via compatible Dolby headphones. Connections include three USB ports, a VGA output and an Ethernet jack in addition to the prerequisite headphone and microphone jacks.
A 3-cell battery is standard, offering up to 4 hours of life, while the optional 6-cell unit endows the netbook with up to 8 hours of operation. Depending on the battery selected, the Aspire One 751 weighs 2.8 or 3lbs. Available colors will include red, white, blue or black. The Aspire One 751 is now due to launch sometime in May, with prices starting at the equivalent of $518.
