As the world’s first “ultra-wide-angle camera with a 3.0-inch AMOLED display Samsung extols its compact digicam to WB1000. The focal length of the 12-megapixel camera ranges from 24 to 120 millimeters so that WB1000 is one of the few digicams with a 24 millimeter focal length. A solid wide angle focal length, but not spectacular value, called the “ultra wide” suggests. On the image quality but it should not pose a problem: The lens is renowned optics specialist Schneider-Kreuznach manufactured.
The WB1000 can capture HD video at 720p resolution, while an optical stabilizer will reduce shake and vibrations. The Schneider-Kreuznach lens has a range that is the equivalent of 24-120mm with 35mm film. The 76MB of internal memory can be expanded with the use of MMC Plus and SDHC memory cards. Due for a release on June 18th, with pricing set at $380.
