Zalman introduced three new external hard drives of U3 series, these hard drives sport an USB 3.0 interface, the 2.5-inch HDD/SSD-supporting Zalman ZM-HE250 U3, 3.5-inch compatible Zalman ZM-HE350 U3 and Zalman ZM-HE350 U3E.

The ZM-HE250 U3 measures 84 x 16 x 134 mm and has an aluminum and polycarbonate construction, while the two ZM-HE350s are 116.6 by 47 by 201 mm and have a similar build. All three enclosures support SATA drives and have an USB 3.0 connector, while the ZM-HE350 U3E also adds an eSATA port to the mix. The trio’s pricing and release date were not announced.

The new ultra-thin notebook Samsung 9 Series is the real competitor of the MacBook Air. Acer Iconia Tab W500 another interesting device has appeared in the form of Tablet PC by Acer, which made its official debut during the MWC 2011 along with A500 and A100. Acer Iconia Tab W500 is one of the first products in its class based on the mobile platform AMD Brazos.

Acer Iconia Tab W500 weights just under 1kg and features a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800) LED-backlit touchscreen, a 1.0 GHz C-50 APU (with Radeon HD 6250 graphics), 2GB of RAM, a 32GB solid state drive, an SD card, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, a G-sensor, a HDMI output, and a 3-cell battery. Acer’s Iconia Tab W500 runs Windows 7 Home Premium and is backed by a one-year warranty. Acer Iconia Tab W500 although not yet available, it can be pre-ordered through several stores, the listed price tag being €499.

The Magic W3 is the new device by AdvanceTC is an hybrid between tablet PC and smartphone running on Windows 7. The Magic W3 has a 1.6GHz Atom Z530 CPU, a 4.8-inch screen, and a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Certainly does not lack the memory, 1G RAM, 32G flash memory storage and a phone module quad-HSPA. There are, of course, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 1.3-megapixel webcam, to support which provides a 3200mAh battery (!). NEC HS100-10 Contactless Finger Scanner

NEC HS100-10 Hybrid Contactless Finger Scanner claims to be the first not to require direct contact with fingers. The HS100-10 in practice is a combined scanner that can read fingerprints, but also the venous system of the fingers, all using sensors that do not require contact.

The new scanner NEC HS100-10, connected to the PC via USB 2.0, will be presented at the Pulse 2011 in Las Vegas this weekend and will be put on the market from next May, with the intent to initially provide companies and organizations public of the United States, Japan and other Asian areas.
