LaCie introduces the latest model of its popular portable external hard drives, the LaCie Rugged Safe. This is a model very similar in design to earlier with rugged features but as always happens with the products of this company, each new model boasts an innovative quality than the versions previous models and also to many other brands on the market.
In particular, this time LaCie offers us a device that can protect data not only on the physical and real, as impact-resistant, but also to correspond online with the fingerprint reader which decrees or denies access to data and hardware with encryption algorithm AES 128-bit encryption.
Even this new Rugged Safe presents interesting characteristics with regard to portability and ease of use: compact dimensions of 90 x 28 x 145 mm, allow easily insert it in the bin bags for PC, with a weight also quite irrelevant (298 grams), while USB 2.0 and FireWire 800 and FireWire 400 port allow easy connection to other devices and plug and play makes it even easier to dialogue with other devices.
The 500 GB version is already available in the online store Italian LaCie to 199.00 euros, while the 1 TB version, watching the home page, will probably be available soon.
