Buffalo has presented a preview of the new DriveStation IFA 2009, external hard drives with USB hardware data encryption and encryption algorithm AES 256-bit. The device is available in 4 different cuts (500 GB, 1 TB, 1.5 TB and 2 TB), measuring 45 x 156 x 175 mm and weighs about 1.1Kg. The power supply provides the functionality EcoManager, which switches off the disk when not in use, and the Auto Power On / Off, which automatically turns on and off the Drive Station with the PC.
The software suite includes SecureLockManagerEasy, which allows you to store login credentials to the device, and the Memeo AutoSync, which lets the DriveStation automatically synchronize with your PC or Mac, to prevent the automatic backup. Prices start at € 83.99 for the 500 GB version, to get to € 259.99 for version 2 TB.
